I'll dominate 'serious boxer' Paul - Joshua
The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be shown live on the streaming platform.
Briton Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to publicize next month's boxing match.
Ex twice unified title holder Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth disparity - at Miami arena on 19 December.
Boxer's Mindset
"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."
Civil Interaction
Despite these statements, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually known for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, regularly earning huge earnings.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly under discussion for two years from now.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.
Physical Difference
As the two fighters met for the customary stare-down, with their height and weight contrast on show, it drove home just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the fight is actually happening.
