Major Russian Attacks Eliminate Electricity In Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have faced escalating attacks in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Moscow's aerial assaults have resulted in electricity outages in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were wounded while residents in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and dealt with problems to water supplies, per reports from city officials.

At the same time, a young boy was killed in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, based on information from regional authorities.

Moscow has escalated strikes on electrical systems over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "substantial measures" from allies to apply pressure on Moscow.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the United States, the EU and the Group of Seven - in delivering air defence systems and enforcing penalties," mentioned in a online statement.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 rockets struck energy facilities, describing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were laboring to repair systems.

A wave of strikes struck electrical systems and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Several of the people hurt in the assaults on the city have been hospitalized, per statements from city authorities.

Local officials said the urban area experienced intense attacks during nighttime hours. A young boy died and several individuals were hurt.

The strikes come after periods of bombing campaigns in the territory, portions of which are occupied by invading troops.

The entire country is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to detect.

Authorities told the media that Russia was intentionally trying to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already affecting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated utility staff and authorities were bracing for further attacks.
